CANDACE E.B. PARKERSON, LCSW, MCAP

Founder, Owner

Candace E.B. Parkerson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has served in a myriad of Social Work capacities as outlined below over the last decade in Palm Beach County. Candace's clinical focus and expertise continue to revolve around substance misuse, domestic/intimate partner violence and child/family issues. Candace holds certification as a Master's Level Certified Addictions Professional and has served within the realm of addictions for over 6 years. Additionally, she holds a specialized certification in Child Welfare, which was obtained during her graduate collegiate career with Florida Atlantic University.

Candace is classically trained in psychotherapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). All services are provided from a Trauma-informed, Recovery-oriented perspective and utilization of the Wraparound Process is prioritized as part of the therapeutic process when appropriate and indicated by the client/family.

CLINICAL COORDINATION

Training, mentoring and supervision for all Youth and Family Services Clinical staff for the Palm Beach County branch of Henderson Behavioral Health, a prominent and well-respected non-for-profit behavioral health organization originated in Broward County in 1953. Specialization in clinical care of youth and adult populations struggling with substance misuse, juvenile justice involvement, mental health issues, familial concerns, and more.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT THERAPY

Provision of intensive individual therapy for adults recovering from substance misuse who were simultaneously involved with the child welfare system (DCF). Clinical focus surrounding root cause of addiction, relapse, prevention, and parenting interventions to promote caregiver protective capacities.

WRAPAROUND CASE MANAGEMENT

Comprehensive Case Management services using the Wraparound Process - a method by which all professionals and natural supports are brought to the table to ensure effective communication and continued movement towards client/family goals. Populations served include underserved and uninsured children and their families in all areas of Palm Beach County. Advocacy efforts included service coordination, navigation of the education and criminal justice systems, child welfare integration, and family support.

VIOLENCE PREVENTION EDUCATION/SHELTER ADVOCACY

Advocacy and direct service provision for youth and families directly or indirectly affected by domestic/intimate partner violence (IPV). Support for women who were survivors of domestic violence in the shelter setting - providing crisis management, trauma support, and service coordination.
